Areas of Work

The Bay Area Regional Collaborative and its member agencies work together to meet the 21st century challenges that impact Bay Area communities now, and into the future.

BARC's Four Member Agencies

Meet the team: ABAG, BAAQMD, BCDC and MTC.

Our primary focus is to drive collaboration that advances critical regional goals:

  • Reduce greenhouse gas emmissions and clean the air
  • Strengthen the social, economic and environmental resiliency of our communities at the frontlines of climate change

BARC focuses on three categories:

Resilient Bay Area: BARC’s regional approach helps our vulnerable communities adapt to climate change. Critical infrastructure and natural systems need to be more resilient to flooding, sea level rise, and the ever present threat of earthquakes.

Carbon-Free Future: We collaborate on policies and programs to help Bay Area jurisdictions reduce the use of fossil fuels and move towards 100% clean energy.

Level Playing Field: BARC is working to measurably improve the quality of life, and access to opportunity, for low-income people and communities of color across the Bay Area.
